Building a safer space together

The International Space Safety Foundation is a non-profit organization

dedicated to furthering policies of international cooperation and scientific

progress in the field of space safety. The final aim of the Foundation is

to pursue the shaping and advancement of  an international culture of

space safety (technical, organizational and socio-political) to contribute

to make space missions, vehicles, stations, extraterrestrial habitats,

equipment and payloads safer for the general public, ground personnel,

space travelers and crews. Similarly the Foundation will seek to support

the preservation of the orbital environment such to ensure safe use and

access by present and future generations, and the integrity of orbital
utilities and space-based safety critical services.

The Foundation operates by establishing multi-years programs, by raising

funds from donors and sponsors, and by making them available to selected
projects of researchers, associations and organizations. The Foundation
will do both: solicit proposals and interests for specific research projects
and cooperation initiatives as well as evaluate merits of unsolicited
proposals. The Foundation will apply modern procurement processes and
best practices to the evaluation of project proposals and assessment of
projects results to ensure cost effective results and value for donations.

The International Space Safety Foundation (ISSF) is dedicated to advancing spaceflight safety.  In its activities the ISSF cooperates closely with the International Association for the Advancement of Space Safety (IAASS) in terms of undertaking and promoting conferences, workshops, research, education and training, and space safety standards.
